今，アメリカの大学で統計学の授業をとってるのですが，Null Hypothesis(H0) とAlternative Hypothesis(Ha) がよく分かりません。

こんなにも早いレスありがとうございます。
何がわからないのか自分でも分からない状況なので（笑，以下の問題を用いて教えて欲しいのですが。

State the null hypothesis (H0) and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) in following case.

The diameter of a apindle is a small motor is supposed to be 5mm. If the spindle is either too small or too large, the motor will not work properly. The manufacturer mesures the diameter in a sample of motors to determine whether the mean diameter has moved away from the target.

このような問題が教科書にあり，答えが
H0: μ=5mm
Ha: μ≠5mm
だそうです。

なぜこのような答えが導き出されるのか教えてください。よろしくお願いします。
